Oh my gosh, thanks! I just finished reading the second chapter and it's really nice to see the things I'm so familiar with. (So the garden has a ceiling, hmm...) Anyway, does this manga come in separate chapters that are aimed to release at specific dates? Or is the full thing out and you're just waiting to get chapter 3?
That was pretty darn cool seeing 'chestnut-hair's' appearance and also the references to all the other deaths from the game.
The manga does give an intersting perspective though, one that I wasn't quite present in the original novel in Chapter 4. A little hard for me to put my finger on it, unless I'm not remembering things correctly. Also in Chapter 3, page 31, there seems to be some phone UI in the picture in case you didn't notice.
I must say, I never actually imagined Viola to be this chipper and to be such a dreamer, but it actually makes a lot of sense now that I think of. :P (That's the kind of attitude that got her in this pedicament in the first place after all. X_X)
It's probably just been a while since I've read the book and/or I how I don't usually see much character in a silent game protagonist. Yuna was certainly the best person to be the artist for this, her take on Viola is pretty nice and cute in appearance and character.
"I would be happy to share half of her burden if it meant walking alongside her."
Well, you got the full burden and you're sure to be more than walking alongside her. :P
It's so strange reading this while already knowing the ending to the story, makes me wonder what the reactions of the people who read this first are. I'd say that I'd switch places with someone who's never heard of The Witch's House for a day just to experience it from that perspective, but we all know how that ends. :P
Ahh yes, I was gonna check it out. Sorry that I haven't been responding to that in a while since I'm trying to catch up and it's been so long since I've last read so I kinda want to re-read the whole thing from the beginning to have a fresher memory.
I was supposed to write a response to Miner's post a months ago, but I got pretty upset that Wikia decided to just throw my long detailed message out the window so I wasn't as motivated to come back here. I said something along the lines of the word "cringe" being used in books hundreds of years ago and even supplied a link to a Google Books word usage graph.
Also said that it would make perfect sense for a demon to be able to have a modern vocabulary seeing as demons are beings that aren't bounded by time, especially as a save point kitty demon.
Also, I pointed out that the image resolution of chapter 8 (and 9 as well now) seem a bit smaller than in the first few. I was wondering why that was the case. It's a little hard to read, but I can still manage.
Aaaaand speaking of reviews...
Am I the only one who found this last chapter to be mildly anticlimactic/disappointing, and rushed? Maybe I'm just looking at this from the perspective of someone who's already played the game and read the novel, thus knowing how it all ends, but that is truly how I feel....
I actually found the manga to be a bit disappointing also, you were right about it feeling rushed especially the first chapter. I liked the art but the storytelling really left something to be desired. I prefer the novel honestly much more, being a big fan of it i really had my expectations high.
